TAMENGLONG, Nov. 9: The 6th state level orange festival committee review meeting was held here at the office chamber of Sumant Singh, IAS Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong today and the prizes for the upcoming Orange Queen Contest, as well as for best oranges fixed.
Earlier the date for the 6th state level orange festival was fixed on December 12, however due to collision with one of the biggest state festival of Nupilal of Manipur, the committee today rescheduled it to December 10, Thursday, as orange festival day. The committee also fixed the prizes for Orange Queen at Rs. 75,000 in cash and Rs. 35,000 and Rs. 20,000 for runners up and second runners up respectively. However, the prize for best oranges is Rs. 35,000 and Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 15,000 for second and third respectively.
The next review meeting is also fixed on 17th November.
