Newmai News Network Dimapur: After a year’s stalemate, the next round of talks between the government of India and the NSCN-IM will be held on either March 2 or March 3 in New Delhi. In this connec-tion general secretary of NSCN-IM Thuigaleng Mui-vah will land at New Delhi on February 27 from Ams-terdam.
Highly placed sources from the NSCN-IM infor-med Newmai News Network tonight in Dimapur that Th. Muivah will be arriving in India on the invitation of Prime Minister Dr Manmo-han Singh. Prompted by this development NSCN-IM functio- naries will be leaving Dima-pur for New Delhi on Tues- day for the preparation of the “ground work”. Sources further disclos-ed that the NSCN-IM leaders based in Nagaland who will be participating in the Mar-ch 2 talks will also be leaving the state for New Delhi in the next few days. It is pertinent to note that the last round of talks between the NSCN-IM and the government of India was held in the 2009 March which resulted in stalemate. Few months ago the Government of India through the Union Home Ministry had invited the Naga outfit for holding talks but the latter group turned down the invitation on the ground that it was wrongly channelised. According to the NSCN-IM, the invitation for talks should be from the Priministerial level or for that matter, from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
