TAMENGLONG: The all Manipur District Council Teachers’ Association is demanding seven months salaries and payable amount of 14% DA arrear for the period of 1st January 2001 to 30 June 2006 to relief the miseries and grievances of the employees of six Hills Autonomous District Councils.

While disclosing this to the reporter Wichong Pamei, President all Manipur District Council Teachers’ Association said that the employees of the six Hills Autonomous District Councils are facing untold miseries due to nonpayment of the seven months salaries from to the employs.

“We have approached to TD Minister Concern and even meet the chief Minister at different occasion and served memorandums demanding to release seven months salaries and payable amount of 14% DA arrear for the period of 1st January 2001 to 30 June 2006, but till today there was no positive response from the government”, he said.  

In the meantime, the District Council Teachers’ Association, Tamenglong DCTA today complaint against the Sharva Shisha Abhyian, SSA Tamenglong over deduction of Rs. 100 each from Teacher Grant and deduction of every developmental works under SSA Tamenglong.  

The complaint was made to the Sumant Singh, IAS Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong who is also chairman of SSA Tamenglong to take up necessary step avoid such inconvenience met by teachers.  A meeting was held here in the morning today at the association office and resolved to make a complaint to the chairman of SSA Tamenglong regarding deduction of 15 percent from school maintenance fund and school developmental funds, the DCTA spokesman said. 

At the same time, DCTA is welcoming the government decision to grant the pension schemes to the retired/ expired council employees. In this regards  the Government of Manipur has direct all the six Chief  Executive Officers of Chandel, Churachanpur, Tamenglong, Senapati, Kangpokpi and Ukhrul district to submits service books and other pension documents of retired/ expired council employees, the source said.
