A call for 3 days journey

Moses and the elders of Israel are to go to Pharaoh and to say , " The Lord, the God of the Hebrews commanded them to take a three-day journey into the desert to offer sacrifices to him Exodus 3:18

When this was intimated to the Pharaoh, he gave a series of his proposals to Moses. Each time Moses rejected the proposals and he repeats the need for three day journey to obey the Lord's command.

Let us ponder upon Pharaoh's proposals given to Moses. Pharaoh was not against the Worship Programme but he supplements his own agenda. His motives are like Satan's Schemes , adding them into believers devotion to Yahweh.

✒ Exodus 8:25 ".. Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, " Go and sacrifice to your God here in the land.."
✅ Satan wants us to be religious but not separated from sin (.. in the land ). He demands our allegiance to him . In other words he want us to be involved in church activities while living under his grip .

✒ Exodus 8: 28 Pharaoh said , " I will let you go to offer sacrifices to your God in the desert , but you must not go very far.
✅ Satan do not wants us to be deeply rooted and built up in Christ. Colossians 2 : 6-7. In fact he do not want us to go away from him .

✒ Exodus 10: 10-11 Pharaoh said , "... Have only the men go, and worship the Lord.."
✅ Satan wants us to be religious and not to have a concern for our family's spiritual growth (only the men go). He do not want us to have a Christ-centered home. In some extent , satan is successful by letting only the husband/ wife to have deeper relationship with the Lord.

Exodus 10 : 24 Pharaoh summoned Moses, "Go , worship the Lord. Even your women and children may go with you ; only leave your flocks and herds.."
✅ Satan do not wants us to dedicate our wealth and to use it for God's glory . He wants to be the lord of our wealth.

✅ Remember what Moses replied , " Our livestock too must go with us ... in worshiping the Lord our God.." Exodus 10:26

How is our spiritual pilgrimage?
Satan will come with new schemes targeting our profession, our wealth, our family and our faith. Let us make a fresh commitment to declare "As for me and my household we will serve the Lord " Joshua 24 : 15c .

Glory to God

Questions, Doubts and Excuses of Moses

have seen the misery of my people in Egypt, I have heard them crying out because of their slave traders, and I am concerned about their suffering so I have come down to rescue them...to a land flowing with milk and honey. Exodus.3:7,8.

Moses lived a royal life in the palace of Pharaoh of Egypt for 40 years. Because of faith, he left everything...and the next 40 years he served as a shepherd taking care of his father in laws sheep in the desert.

One day, the God of his fathers called Moses to perform a big task, of delivering the Isrealites from their bondage under Pharaoh and to lead them to Canaan.

We can see his fears, worries, questions and how God answered it.
1. "Who am I" that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt? Exodus.3:10. I am only a shepherd. I can't even talk properly. I am so small infront of Pharaoh.
God's answer, "I will be with you." Exodus.3:12
What else do you need?

2. Exodus.3:13. They might ask me- "What is his name?" God, I don't know, even your name. How can I speak for you?
God's answer, "I AM WHO I AM". The Lord, God of your fathers Exodus.4:14,15 This knowledge is enough.

3. "What if they do do not believe me or listen to me?" Exodus.4:1.
God answered it with a question. What is that in your hand?" Exodus.4:2.

Moses answer, "A staff." Exodus. 4:2. God is saying, that is enough for me to use you. Don't look at the size of the task or at the size of your enemy but trust in the power of your God.

Excuse of Moses
"O Lord, I have never been eloquent.... I am slow of speech and tongue." Exodus. 4:10.

God's answer.
"I will help you speak and I will teach you what to do." Exodus.4:12. What else do we need?

Request of Moses.
"O Lord, please send someone else to do it." Exodus.4:13.He is saying, it is a big and difficult task for me. I am not capable to do it.

To this God told about his elder brother Aaron and added. "I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do." Exodus.4:15b.

Moses had more questions, doubts and excuses but....

Today, to fulfill some task, when God is calling us, what is our response?
Today, what are our fears, questions, doubts and excuses?

When God called me in 1980, I had lots of fears, doubts and excuses but God gave an answer to all my questions and to all my excuses.. The journey was not easy but HE is with me throughout.

Some of us could be worrying about the problems, difficulties, lack of a abilities, gifts or talents, lack of resources.. ..Spirit of Let someone else. God is asking us, What is in your hand? A staff. What we have is enough for God to use us. Not our ability but our availability.

Friends, are we willing to give ourselves as we are, to be used by God He who used Moses is able to use you and me.

Exo. 4:13.  I just put it this way

Moses with folded hands begs God and says ,"Not me lord ,please send someone else"
In our words :
"Excuse Me Please"
This young man who just took over the responsibility of his father in law in looking after his flock was shunning away from the responsibility of looking after the flock the heavenly father has chosen for him.

Why was he shunning away from such a responsibility?
Probably He did not know his heavenly father well.
When he makes so many excuses does God give up on him?

ABSOLUTELY NO
Because in Man"s eyes they were excuses But in God's eyes it was his humility and confession

INSTEAD
God makes Himself known to him.

Who has made the man's mouth?or who makes the mute ,the deaf ,the seeing or the blind?Have not I, the Lord?Ex4:11
God says that He will be his mouth and teach him what to say Ex 4:12
God provides a helper,Aaron Ex 4:14
He provides a rod to do the signs. Ex 4:17

Moses gets the assurance from God and he takes the Rod Of God (Ex4:20)in his hand and sets off to do the assignment given to him.

When He surrenders
God gives him the most important designation:
And you shall be to him as GOD Ex14:16

Dear friends ,
We often say,"EXCUSE ME PLEASE" and shun away the responsibility entrusted on us.
God has chosen us to share the gospel ,to evangelise, to fulfill His purpose. In our eyes we may have many weaknesses but God has already given us the Rod of God that is the Word of God and Holy Spirit as the helper and He has already appointed us with a designation as Ambassadors for Christ wherever we are and especially in this journey of 240 days with the best technology at our hands .

So let us READ,SHARE , EVANGELISE to transform peoples lives through His WORD.

Amen
Suneeta.

⚡ God's Power Manifested ⚡

God is also the Lord of History, for there is no one like Him Majestic in Holiness, awesome in Glory and working wonders.

⚡ Neither the affliction of Israel nor the plagues in Egypt were outside His control. Pharoah, the Egyptians and all Israel saw the power of God.

⚡ God's plan was to bring the Israelites from the yoke of the Egyptians and redeem them with an out stretched arm.

⚡ God told Moses that He will harden Pharoah's heart though the miraculous signs and wonders were multiplied in Egypt. Pharoah was raised for this purpose that God might show him His power and that His name might be proclaimed in all the earth.

The Lord revealed His Power through ten Plagues. The magicians were able to perform the plague of blood and the plague of frogs which were the first two plagues.

☝But the other plagues the magicians proclaimed were by the Finger of God.(God's miraculous power.)

Pharoah continued to harden his heart during the plagues of gnats, flies, livestock, boils, hail, locusts and darkness.

After the plague of locusts Moses told Pharoah that they have to go into the desert for worship. But Pharoah said that they can worship in the land itself.

After the plague of darkness Pharoah said that they can go leaving their flocks and herds behind. Moses did not agree.

The final plague was on the first born son in every home and all the first born of the cattle as well.

The Lord made a distinction between Egypt and Israel. None of the plagues touched Israel. They were kept safe.

Dear ones in Christ, God makes a difference between those who trust Him from those who don't. He never Forsakes those who trust Him. So rest assured of His divine Protection, Providence and Provision.

Why God hardened the heart of Pharoh?

Pharoh is the replica of satan. God has preplanned a great destruction for Pharoh the satan and his armies and a great salvation for his people.

Pharoh and his army were very strong, but the children of Israel were weak, ordinary and unskilled.

The whole process of salvation is a battlefield. The strong will overcome the weak.

Exodus 7:4 here God is addressing the children of Israel as an army. God is looking at you and me as a soldier and as a mighty army.

God hardened the heart of Pharoh to help us to understand that our enemy the satan is strong and we be should be always equipped with the weapons of warfare.

For the weapons of our war are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world and against spiritual wickedness at high places.

Dear child of God the enemy might be strong, future seems to be tuff, situations may be going from bad to worse. It is happening not to destroy you, but only to make you strong. The darker the night the brighter the stars, the deeper the grief the closer is God. Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God
If God be for us who can be against us?
greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Stay blessed
